Ligue 1: Ericsson (technology) becomes digital experience partner of Paris Saint-Germain (2016-2020)

Ericsson, the Swedish information technology and telecommunications group, has become the "digital experience" partner of Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1), announced the two parties on 16/11/2016. The contract will last four years, and is estimated at €1.8m per season by the French sports daily L'Equipe on 16/11/2016.

"This is not a traditional sports partnership, although there is a commercial component for the club and Ericsson. This is mostly a technological partnership with two leading companies in their respective fields, to accelerate the digital transformation of the club," said Frédéric Longuépée, the deputy managing director of PSG.

"This is not a traditional sport sponsorship contract, which we would never do. This is the first time that Ericsson has set up a partnership with a football club which has the stature of Paris Saint-Germain. This is a true collaboration between the club and Ericsson, to which it is not possible to affix a single amount. We will provide technology and consulting to PSG.
