Premier League: 44.17 million total Twitter followers for the 20 English clubs (November 2016)

The 20 clubs in the 2016-17 Premier League championship have a cumulative 44.17 million followers on the social network Twitter, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 02/11/2016. The Premier League is ranked second place in the Top 5 leagues, behind LaLiga Santander, with an average of 2.2 million followers per club.

Manchester United FC are the most followed English club, with 9.17 million followers, up 246,400 (+2.8%) compared with early October 2016, ahead of Arsenal FC (2nd, 8.36 million) and Chelsea FC (3rd, 7.49 million). Manchester United rank second in the European Top 5 in terms of follower gain in October 2016, behind Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander, +268000).

West Ham United FC became the eighth Premier League club to surpass the 1 million follower mark in October 2016.

The figures included only count the primary Twitter account of each club.
