Bundesliga: 8.88 million total Twitter followers for the 18 German clubs (November 2016)

The 18 clubs in the 2016-17 Bundesliga championship total 8.88 million followers on the social network Twitter, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 02/11/2016. This result makes the Bundesliga the least popular Top league on Twitter, with an average of 493,700 followers per club.

FC Bayern Munich are the most followed German club, with 3.08 million followers, an increase of 44,000 (+1.4%) compared with October 2016. Bayern are 11th in the ranking of the most popular European clubs on Twitter. Borussia Dortmund (2nd, 2.37 million) and FC Schalke 04 (3rd, 457,400) complete the German podium. These three clubs have a cumulative 5.91 million followers, or 66.58% of all 18 Bundesliga clubs.

With 9.1% growth in followers (60,400 to 65,900), RB Leipzig are the Bundesliga club which recorded the best percentage growth on Twitter in October 2016.
