Italy: 9.2 million viewers on average (all on Rai) for the 15 "Azzurri" games in 2016

The Italian national football team drew 9.2 million viewers on average, on channels of the Italian free-TV group Rai, for the 15 games played in 2016, according to website Calcio e Finanza on 16/11/2016. In total, the 15 games of the "Azzurri" accumulated more than 140 million viewers in 2016.

The top audience in 2016 for the "Azzurri" was for the Euro 2016 quarter-final, Germany - Italy (1-1, Germany won 6-5 on penalties), which drew 16.5 million viewers on average on the Italian free-TV channel Rai1, on Saturday, 02/07/2016 (kick-off at 21:00 CET), for an audience share of 66.34%.

Germany - Italy also drew 3.1 million cumulative viewers in Italy to all three Sky Italia pay-TV channels (Sky Sport 1 HD, Sky Calcio 1 HD, and Sky Sport HD Mix). In total, the five games of Italy's Euro 2016 course drew 71.92 million viewers (34.8% of total), an average of 14.38 million per game.

The average audience for a game Italian national team was 6.6 million viewers in 2015, and 9.1 million in 2014, the year of the World Cup in Brazil (the "Azzurri" were eliminated at the end of the group phase)…
