Ligue 1: LOSC Lille owner Michel Seydoux to respond "promptly" to takeover offer from Gerard Lopez

"According to the press release issued yesterday (18/11/2016) by Gerard Lopez, Michel Seydoux confirms having received a firm offer from the Spanish-Luxembourg businessman for the takeover of LOSC. (...) A response to this bid will be sent to Gerard Lopez promptly, after thorough study and consultation of the shareholders of LOSC and the various parties involved," stated LOSC Lille (Ligue 1) in a statement on 19/11/2016.

The businessman Gerard Lopez, head of the investment company Genii Group, and Nekton, a company specialising in the trading and investment in fossil fuels, entered into exclusive negotiations with Michel Seydoux, president and shareholder of LOSC Lille, for the takeover of the club, on 16/10/2016.

Gerard Lopez, who was previously rumoured to be interested in acquiring Olympique de Marseille (Ligue 1) during the summer of 2016, announced on 18/11/2016 that he had submitted a "firm offer" to Michel Seydoux for the takeover of LOSC Lille.
