Spain: 5.42 million viewers on average for the 15 matches of "La Roja" in 2016

The Spanish national football team drew 5.42 million viewers on average on Telecinco (channel of free-TV group Mediaset España) and La1 (channel of the free-TV group TVE) for the 15 games played in 2016, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 18/11/2016.

The cumulative audiences gained more than 81 million total viewers in 2016. The highest audience of the year was the third game of the Euro 2016 group stage, Croatia - Spain ( 2-1), which drew 10.72 million viewers on average on the Spanish free-TV channel Telecinco, on Tuesday, 21/06/2016 (kick-off at 21:00 CET), for an audience share of 60.6%.

In total, the four games of Spain in Euro 2016 (eliminated by Italy, 2-0, in the Round of 16) drew 37.81 million viewers, (46.5% of the total for the year), for an average of 9.45 million per game, on Telecinco. The average of the four 2018 World Cup qualification matches was 4.8 million viewers, on La1. The average of the seven friendly matches was 3.46 million viewers, on Telecinco.
