With 36.32 million followers, FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) is the most followed club in Europe on Twitter, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 02/11/2016, which features a Top 100 list of the most popular European clubs on this social network.

The data used by News Tank Football in the Top 100 list include followers to a club's main Twitter account, but also those additional accounts in other languages. For example, Barcelona have fewer followers on its main account than Real Madrid CF, who are second in the Top 100, as the Catalan club remains ahead due to a higher number of followers on other accounts.

FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF (2nd, 33.82 million) dominate the European Top 100 ranking. They are followed by three Premier League clubs, Manchester United FC (3rd, 10.12 million), Chelsea FC (4th, 9.21 million) and Arsenal FC (5th, 8.48 million).
