Media: Benfica's TV channel has received 80,000 subscribers since its launch on the 01/07/2013

Benfica TV, Portuguese club SL Benfica's (2nd in the Portuguese first division in 2012/13) pay-TV channel has had 80,000 subscribers since its launch on the 01/07/2013, the club announced on the 18/07/2013 .

"These figures indicate that we are on the right track, and with the support and commitment of all Benfiquistas (Benfica supporters), we will reach the goals we have set for ourselves," said Luís Filipe Vieira, the club's president. "I wish that the Benfica world continues to adhere massively, demonstrating the unique character of our club."

The Portuguese economic newspaper Diario Economico announced that Benfica's goal was to reach 40,000 subscribers by the end of July 2013.

  • Benfica TV is a pay-TV channel available to cable operators Meo, Zon, Cabovisão (Portugal) and Zap (Angola and Mozambique), for a fixed monthly fee of €10.
  • From the 2013/14 season, the channel will broadcast Benfica's (first division) league home games and Farense (second division), and the English Premier League (2013-2016).
