Italy: the distribution model of TV rights for the Serie A TIM unanimously adopted for 2016-2018

The distribution model of audiovisual rights for the Serie A TIM has been unanimously adopted for the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons by the Annual Assembly of the Lega Serie A, held in Milan (Italy) on 25/11/2016.

"We have unanimously agreed on the distribution of the TV rights for 2016-17 and the following season. This is the result of important work that brought in a very constructive atmosphere, and a historic agreement voted on unanimously by the 20 clubs in the Serie A TIM. The criteria used in the previous season (2015-16) are confirmed for the current season (2016-17) and the next (2017-18). Each year, for the differential (annual increase in TV rights received by the agreements for the 2015-2018 period) - about €25m per season incrementally (€75m over two years) - 40% will be divided in equal shares, while the remaining 60% will be distributed in equal portions to clubs ranked from 4^th to 17^th in the Serie A TIM table," said Maurizio Beretta, president of the Lega Serie A, on 25/11/2016.
