LaLiga: Atlético Madrid post record turnover of €277m in 2015-16

Club Atlético de Madrid (LaLiga Santander) posted a record turnover of €277.43m for the 2015-16 fiscal year, announced during the general assembly of its socios (members), on 15/11/2016. By taking into account the activities of the Madrid club excluding player trading (€44.09m) and other operating revenues (€14.47m), the club's turnover for the 2015-16 fiscal year amounted to €218.9m, an increase of €58m compared to 2015 (€160.89m).

This 36% increase in revenues for fiscal year 2015-16 compared to 2014-15 is mainly due to higher revenues from competitions (€87.58m, +40%) of which €76.46m comes from UEFA (including the new TV rights agreement for 2015-2018), and domestic TV rights which brought in €68.74m (against €41.66m in 2014-15, an increase of 65%).

The club recorded an operating profit of €24.3m in 2015-16 (-39.3% from the 2014-15) and a net profit of €3.9m, down 70% compared to 2014-15 (€13.1m).
