Facebook: 237,020,000 fans in total for the 20 Premier League clubs (December 2016)

The 20 clubs in the 2016-17 Premier League season have a cumulative total of 237.02 million fans on the social network Facebook, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/12/2016. This total makes the Premier League the most popular European league on Facebook, with 11.85 million fans on average per club.

Manchester United are the most followed English club with 71.78 million fans. The club also earned the most new fans in November 2016 (+337,900, +0.5%). Chelsea (46.93 million) and Arsenal (37.28 million) come in second and third place respectively.

With a 2.3% increase (from 1,250,000 to 1,280,000), Stoke City are the Premier League club with the best percentage growth on Facebook between November and December 2016. The 20 English clubs drew around 64,800 fans on average in November 2016, the highest gain in the Top 5 leagues.
