The 20 clubs in the 2016-17 Premier League season have a cumulative 44.95 million followers on the social network Twitter, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/12/2016. This result ranks the Premier League second in the Top 5 leagues, behind LaLiga Santander, with an average of 2.24 million followers per club.

Manchester United are the most followed English club, with 9.37 million followers, up 203,427 (+2.2%) compared to the beginning of November 2016. Arsenal FC (2nd, 8.53 million) and Chelsea FC (3rd, 7.57 million) complete the English podium. Manchester United are the club of the Top 5 with the most new followers in November 2016, ahead of Real Madrid (LaLiga Santander, +202,300).

With a 4.7% increase of followers (from 170,000 to 177,932), Middlesbrough FC are the Premier League club which registered the best percentage growth on Twitter in November 2016, but remains the least followed club of the English league on Twitter. Hull City AFC became the 16th Premier League club to exceed 300,000 followers in November 2016.
