Rugby: American GEE acquires the TV rights to the Aviva Premiership for aircraft and ships

The US company GEE (Global Eagle Entertainment) acquired the broadcasting rights to the Aviva Premiership Rugby, to be broadcast on airplanes and cruise ships, on 29/11/2016.

The agreement, for a period of five years, also includes two other British domestic rugby competitions: the Anglo-Welsh Cup (a tournament involving, in addition to English clubs, the four Welsh franchises) and the Singha Premiership Rugby 7s (rugby 7s tournament played in the summer by Premiership clubs).

"This has been a breakthrough season in terms of Premiership Rugby’s global footprint, and this latest partnership extends the reach of Aviva Premiership Rugby, Singha Premiership Rugby 7s series and Anglo-Welsh Cup competitions even further," said Dominic Hayes, commercial director at Premiership Rugby, on 29/11/2016.
