Germany: the DFB and _wige Media AG will test a broadcasting platform of amateur football

The DFB has signed a partnership with the German media group _wige Media AG around the broadcasting of German amateur football, on 05/12/2016. "The aim is to equip German amateur clubs with special video technology that allows the broadcasting of their football matches automatically on the platform sporttotal.tv," indicated the German Federation and the media group.

A first set of tests will start from the 2016-17 return phase (second half of the season) of the regional leagues of North and South Bavaria and Upper Division of Lower Saxony. Video systems could then be extended to other amateur leagues in 2017-18. Eventually, fans will be able to register and get the content on the platform for free with advertising, or through a paid premium version, without advertising. The agreement between _wige Media AG and the DFB also includes the website dedicated to amateur football, Fussball.de.
