PSG: an electronic ticket marketplace to "control the secondary market" (Frédéric Longuépée)

"To maximize attendances at the Parc des Princes (PSG's stadium), and "to control the secondary ticket market" are the two main objectives that Paris Saint-Germain is willing to achieve with the setting up of an online ticket marketplace on the 01/01/2013, Frédéric Longuépée, deputy director general in charge of the club's commercial activities, told NTF on the 24/07/2013.

The online platform, run by the English market leader Viagogo, enabled the exchange of 15,000 tickets to PSG matches during the second half of the 2012/13 season.

"This tool certainly doesn't completely prevent tickets resale on the secondary market, but it assures the seller gets paid and the buyer receives his ticket, which is not guaranteed on the black market," Longuépée added. "This project is part of our strategy to entirely dematerialize our ticketing activities by 2015/16."
