Australia: Twitter interested in TV rights of the Hyundai A-League for the period 2017-2021

"We are part of the discussions, no doubt," said Jonno Simpson, director of partnerships at Twitter Australia regarding the media rights to the Hyundai A-League, on 05/12/2016. The social network Twitter will respond to the call for tenders from the FFA for the rights of the Australian first division for the 2017-2021 period, including the submission of bids expected on 09/12/2016.

"We want to be part of the discussion because the amount of football or soccer conversation on Twitter is huge in this country and we want to be part of that. This is clearly premium content that we want to deliver. We are part of the conversation but I think we are coming in to be partners and I hate using this word, but we are not coming in as a disruptor. That is not who we are. We will come in and work with the rights holders,” added Jonno Simpson.
