"Lyon will host the final of the Europa League in 2018," announced Aleksander Ceferin, UEFA president, after the Executive Committee meeting in Nyon (SUI) on 09/12/2016.

Regarding the 2018-2021 cycle of the Champions League, all the decisions announced on 26/08/2016 regarding access (four places in the group stage for each of the four top-ranked countries), the coefficients to be used, and the financial redistribution, have been validated.

It has also been decided to set up, from 2018, two time slots for the evenings of the Champions League, with one kick-off at 19:00 CET for two games, and a second kick-off at 21:00 CET for six games, "to allow fans to follow more matches," said UEFA.

"The new access list continues to provide the 55 national associations with a chance to qualify for the group stage of both club competitions. It will also ensure that all domestic champions eliminated in the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Champions League get a second chance in the European competitions by entering a dedicated champions' path in UEFA Europa League qualification," said UEFA on…
