The Italian telecom regulator AGCOM will manage the procedure to define the rules "of the collective selling of TV rights to the Serie A TIM for the 2018-2021 period," announced this body on 06/12/2016.

"AGCOM will first analyse the guidelines that have been passed to it by the Lega Serie A on 30/11/2016. Telecommunications operators interested in the process will have a period of seven days from the publication for sending information, documents, and written comments on the text presented by the Lega Serie A. The process involves the participation of all stakeholders, and will end on 29/01/2017," said the Italian telecommunications regulatory authority.

The announcement comes in the wake of cases that had marred the previous tender. Mediaset, Infront Italy, the Lega Serie A, and Sky Italia all appealed, in June 2016, a fines of total of €66m imposed by AGCM (see below), following the illegal agreement about the allocation of the Serie A 2015-2018 domestic TV rights.
