75% tax: two MPs propose a tax for "clubs beyond a certain revenue threshold"

The National Assembly's fact-finding mission on the policy of support for professional sport and solidarity with amateur sport, recommends "studying, through representatives of professional football, the impact and implementation methods of the extraordinary 75% tax for companies who pay annual salaries over €1m," according to a report published on the 11/07/2013.

According to the MPs from la Manche (northern France), Guénaël Huet (UMP, centre-right) and la Loire (northwest France), Régis Juanico (SRC, left-wing), the report's co-rapporteurs, "It's difficult to justify to our fellow citizens that there will be an exception made for the football sector in the implementation of this extraordinary contribution. Without wanting to jeopardise the merits or implementation of this tax measure...the rapporteurs would like the study of the tax's impact to be as complete and comprehensive as possible."
