LaLiga Santander: Scotiabank becomes regional partner of FC Barcelona in North and South America

The Canadian bank Scotiabank has become a regional partner of FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) in North and South America for three seasons (2016-2019), with two additional optional seasons, on 07/12/2016. This is the first partnership by the trade office Barça in New York (USA), inaugurated on 06.09.2016.

The agreement was presented by Scotiabank and FC Barcelona in three cities simultaneously: Mexico City (MEX), Lima (PER), and Santiago (CHI). The amount is estimated between €1m and €3m per season by Spanish media. Part of the funding will be allocated to the "FutbolNet" programme of the club's Foundation, said the Catalan club.

The programme aims at educating children aged 10 to 16 experiencing social exclusion, through football. It is implemented by the FC Barcelona Foundation in Catalonia, but also in Rio de Janeiro (BRA), Rosario (ARG), El Salto and Tonala (MEX), Oman, Qatar, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and in over 30 African countries.
