EBU: three new members elected to the executive board for two years (2017-2019)

Gilles Marchand (SRG SSR, Switzerland), Marko Filli (RTV, Slovenia), and Tonio Portughese (PBS, Malta) are the three new members of the executive board of the EBU, elected for a term of two years (2017-2019) at the 77th General Assembly of the Union by its members in Lausanne (Switzerland) on 08/12/2016.

They replace Alexander Wrabetz (ORF, Austria) and Faisal Rashid Laraïchi (SNRT, Morocco) who will leave their positions in the executive board at the end of 2016. The executive board of the EBU, chaired by Jean-Paul Philippot (RTBF, Belgium) since 2009, is responsible for ensuring the implementation of the strategy and general policy of the EBU. The eleven members are senior representatives of member organisations of the Union.

The next term of board for a two year period begins on 01/01/2017.

  • Gilles Marchand was appointed CEO of SRG SSR by the board of the Swiss Radio and Television, on 9/11/2016.
