2016 MLS Cup final: 3.534 million viewers on Fox, Univision, TSN, and RDS (USA + Canada)

The 2016 Audi MLS Cup final, Toronto FC - Seattle Sounders FC (0-0, 4-5 on penalties), drew on average 2.012 million viewers in the United States, on 10/12/2015 (kick-off at 20:00 local time, 02:00 D+1 CET). This figure represented an audience growth of 74% compared to the 2015 MLS Cup final (not broadcast on any free-TV channel).

The English-language broadcaster Fox (national channel, free-TV) drew 1.411 million subscribers on average for the 2016 MLS Cup, compared to 668,000 on ESPN (pay-TV) in 2015 (+111%). The match registered a peak audience of 2.2 million viewers during the penalty shootout. This was the first broadcast of the MLS Cup final on free-TV since the 2008 edition, which drew 907,000 viewers on ABC. The Spanish-language channels Univision Deportes and Unimas (both pay-TV) drew 601,000 subscribers, 19% more than in 2015 (506,000) but 11% less than in 2014 (678,000 subscribers).
