Eurosport: Bernard Ross named Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of the Olympic Games

British-born Bernard Ross was appointed chief operating officer and general manager of the Olympic Games at Eurosport, Discovery Communications announced on 14/12/2016. The US telecommunications group, the parent company of Eurosport, announced the position which Bernard Ross will occupy in January 2017, under the authority of Peter Hutton, the CEO of the Eurosport pay television group.

"Ross is charged with the successful delivery of the Olympic Games across Europe and will lead on all production, logistics and organizational aspects of the planning for the Games. With a particular focus on Germany, Norway and Sweden," indicated Discovery Communications, who acquired exclusive distribution rights, in Europe, to the Olympics for €1.3bn over the 2018-2024 period (see below), on 29/06/2015.
