"My concern is to give some air to a flawed system and global environment. I want to help the French football breathe," said Valérie Fourneyron, French Minister for Sports, Youth, Popular Education and Community Life to News Tank Football, on the 25/07/2013.

"The economic and social model of football is weakened, both in France and Europe. We have reached the limits of the current model. This context led me to set up Jean Glavany's working group on sustainable football," the minister added.

The Minister believes that the French professional football relies on too many derogations: "By dint of exceptions and weaknesses, the future model is unclear. But I am really willing to build a model for the future."

Regarding the PPP (public private partnership) system, used to fund the construction of stadiums, Valérie Fourneyron said: "To build a stadium, PPP cost three times as much as if a private investor was able to put money on the table."

Valerie Fourneyron exclusively answers to NTF.
