United States: partnership between IOC, USOC, and NBCUniversal to create an Olympic channel

The IOC, the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) and the American media conglomerate NBCUniversal have signed a partnership, for the United States, around the "Olympic Channel" for content production and distribution of the channel, on 15/12/2016. This partnership will be created the United States during the second half of 2017, and a channel called "Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA" will offer sports content throughout year centered around the performances of American athletes.

The agreement represents the first linear content offering of the Olympic Channel since the IOC launched the venture after the closing ceremony of the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games, on 21/08/2016. The "Olympic Channel" is a digital platform available worldwide on all media, including via the olympicchannel.com website.

The agreement also involves a greater development of Olympic sports on subsidiary digital platforms of NBCUniversal, including NBC, NBCSN, and NBC Sports. Coverage began on 17/12/2016 with the "Team USA Winter Series Champions" day which included a friendly women's ice hockey game…
