Scotland: the League to rename the first four national divisions

The SPFL (Scottish Professional Football League) has renamed the Scottish 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th divisions on the 24/07/2013.

Starting on the 2013/14 season, the Scottish Premier League will be named the Scottish Premiership, the First Division (2nd division) becomes the Scottish Championship, the Second Division (3rd division) will be named the Scottish League 1, and the Third Division (4th division) will be the Scottish League 2.

This initiative is accompanied by the presentation of the visual identity of the new Scottish body, result of the merger of the SPL (Scottish Premier League, 12 clubs in the 1st division) and the SFL (Scottish Football League, 30 clubs of the three lower divisions), on the 12/06/2013.
