LOSC Lille: Michel Seydoux and Gerard Lopez sign a pre-agreement for the takeover of the club

"The proposed acquisition of LOSC Lille by Gerard Lopez has just reached a new milestone. Michel Seydoux and Gerard Lopez have indeed signed, on Thursday, 22/12/2016, an agreement for the acquisition of the club by the Spanish-Luxembourg businessman," indicated Michel Seydoux and Gérard Lopez in a joint statement on 22/12/2016.

Gerard Lopez, head of the investment company Genii Group and Nekton, a company specialising in trading and investment in fossil fuels, entered into exclusive negotiations with Michel Seydoux, president and majority shareholder of LOSC Lille, for the takeover of the club on 16/10/2016. The LOSC Lille board gave a favorable opinion regarding the club's takeover by Gerard Lopez on 12/12/2016.

"The signing of this agreement (dated 22/12/2016) must lead to 'closing', expected before 20/01/2017, after the last procedural elements are respected. This new stage is decisive regarding the official and definitive succession from Michel Seydoux to Gerard Lopez at the head of LOSC Lille," added the two men in a statement posted on the LOSC Lille club website.
