The Regional Administrative Court of Lazio (region of Rome) has overturned the conviction for illegal agreements and the fines to pay a total of €66m imposed by the Italian Competition Authority against the parties involved - RTI (subsidiary of Mediaset), Infront Italy, the Lega Serie A, and Sky Italia - regarding the allocation of the domestic TV rights to the Serie A for the 2015-2018 period, on 23/12/2016.

Mediaset, Infront Italy, the Lega Serie A, and Sky Italia all appealed, in June 2016, the fines totalling of €66m imposed by AGCM (see below), following the illegal agreement about the allocation of the Serie A 2015-2018 domestic TV rights. The AGCOM had condemned those involved in the illegal agreement about the allocation of TV rights to the Serie A for 2015-2018 on 20/04/2016 (see below).

  • The tender for the domestic TV rights for 2015-2018 to the first Italian division was launched on 19/05/2014 by the League and Infront Italy , its media advisor.
  • The main lots were awarded on 26/06/2014.

Mediaset was the most severely punished (€51.4m fine)
