Facebook: 43.56 million fans in total for the 20 clubs in Ligue 1 (January 2017)

The 20 clubs in the 2016-17 Ligue 1 season have cumulative total 43.56 million fans on the social network Facebook, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 02/01/2017. Ligue 1 is the least followed European Top 5 league on Facebook, with an average of 2.17 million fans per club.

Paris Saint-Germain remain the French club with the most fans (26,150,000), an increase of 498,740 compared to December 2016. PSG alone comprise 60% of the Facebook fans of all Ligue 1 clubs: no other club in the Top 5 dominates its domestic championship in this manner. The Parisian club contributed 96.5% of the increase in the number of fans of Ligue 1 clubs on Facebook in December 2016, the month in which it posted the third best fan growth of all European clubs in terms, behind Real Madrid CF and FC Barcelona.

At 2.5% (400,700 to 410,680), OGC Nice posted the best percentage growth of Ligue 1 clubs on Facebook during December 2016. Five French clubs saw their number of Facebook fans decrease in the last month of 2016.
