LaLiga Santander: Alavés have an expansion project stage Mendizorrotza 32,000 places

Deportivo Alavés (LaLiga Santander) have an expansion and modernization project to bring the Estadio Mendizorrotza to 32,000 seats, announced on 18/12/2016. The enclosure, located in the city of Vitoria (Basque country), currently has a capacity of 19,840 seats for the 2016-17 season.

The estimated budget of the work amounts to €50m, said the club, which could reveal a detailed financing plan in January 2017. Deportivo Alavés, who in 2016-17 are playing its first season in La Liga since 2005-06, hope to complete the renovation work of the stadium by 2021. The stadium is owned by the city of Vitoria, but the club has the exclusive management of the facility until 2023.
