Twitter: 11.71 million total followers for the 20 Ligue 1 clubs (January 2017)

The 20 clubs in the 2016-17 Ligue 1 season have a cumulative 11.71 million followers on the social network Twitter, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 02/01/2017. Ligue 1 is ranked fourth in the European Top 5 leagues, with 585,825 followers on average per club.

Paris Saint-Germain remain the most followed French club, with 4.07 million followers, an increase of 79,162 (+2%) compared to early December 2016. Olympique de Marseille (2^nd, 1.84 million) and AS Monaco (3^rd, 1.19 million) complete the Ligue 1 podium. PSG became, in December 2016, the ninth club in the European Top 5 leagues to cross the 4 million followers mark on Twitter.

At 7.5% (87,300 to 93,812), FC Metz are the Ligue 1 club that registered the highest percentage growth on Twitter during the last month in 2016.
