Twitter: 46.04 million total followers for the 20 Premier League clubs (January 2017)

The 20 clubs in the 2016-17 Premier League season have a cumulative 46.04 million followers on the social network Twitter, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 02/01/2017. The Premier League is the second most followed European Top 5 league, behind LaLiga Santander, with 2.3 million followers on average per club.

Manchester United remain the most followed English club, with 9.65 million followers, up 278,207 (+3%) compared to the beginning of December 2016, ahead of Arsenal (2nd, 8.75 million) and Chelsea (3rd, 7.71 million).

At 5.6% (177,932 to 187,968), Middlesbrough are Premier League which had the best percentage growth on Twitter in December 2016, but it remains the only club in the English top flight with less than 200,000 followers on the social network.

The figures considered in this table are only for the main Twitter account of each club
