Twitter: 9.35 million total followers for the 18 Bundesliga clubs (January 2017)

The 18 clubs in the 2016-17 Bundesliga season have a cumulative 9.35 million followers on the social network Twitter, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 02/01/2017. The Bundesliga is the least followed European Top 5 league on Twitter, with 519,619 followers on average per club.

Bayern Munich remain the most popular German club on Twitter, with 3.21 million followers, an increase of 73,801 (+2.3%) compared to December 2016. Borussia Dortmund (2nd, 2.46 million) and FC Schalke 04 (3rd, 480,024) complete the German podium on Twitter. These three clubs have a total of 6.15 million followers, or 65% of the total of all 18 Bundesliga clubs.

At 7.3%, (71,386 to 76,612), RB Leipzig are the Bundesliga club which registered the highest percentage growth on Twitter in December 2016.

The figures considered in this table are only for the main Twitter account of each club
