eSports: Telefonica creates, with ESL, Movistar eSports, the first 100% eSports channel in Spain

Telefonica has created, in collaboration with the organiser of eSports tournaments ESL, "Movistar eSports", the first channel exclusively dedicated to eSports in Spain, announced the Spanish telecommunications operator on 16/01/2017. The agreement will also provide the broadcast content of eSports on all Movistar+ platforms, and create an eSports franchise (see below).

"Movistar eSports" will offer 13 tournaments organised by the ESL, including ESL Arena and ESL Expo, each with 25 hours of live content in 2017. All events will be commentated with specialists and ESL professionals. Movistar Deportes 1, Movistar Deportes 2 and #0, other channels of Movistar+, will also offer content dedicated to eSports.
