2015-16 revenue: Manchester United dethrone Real Madrid at top of the Deloitte Football Money League

With £515.3m in revenue in 2015-16 (€689m), Manchester United (Premier League) re-claimed first place in the Football Money League, whose 2017 edition was published by the UK office audit and consulting firm Deloitte on 19/01/2017.

Manchester United are ahead of the LaLiga Santander giants FC Barcelona (€620.2m) and Real Madrid (€620.1m), the latter of which had occupied first place in the Football Money League for 11 years (since 2006). This ranking classifies football clubs which generate the most revenue, via analysis by the Sports Business Group at Deloitte UK.

Manchester United had continuously occupied the top spot from 1998 - the date of the first edition of the Deloitte Football Money League - until 2005, before being dethroned in 2006 by Real Madrid, the undisputed leader since.

FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga, 4th at €592m) and Manchester City (Premier League, 5th at €524.9m) round out the top five. Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1, 6th at €520.9m) and Juventus (Serie A TIM, 10th at €341.1m), are the top representatives from France and Italy respectively.
