Deloitte Football Money League 2017: ranking of football clubs by revenue for 2015-16

Deloitte UK, the UK office of audit and consulting firm, has published the 2017 edition of it Football Money League, or football clubs ranked by their total 2015-16 turnover, on 19/01/2017.

The highlight of the 20th annual edition of this publication: Manchester United (Premier League, £515.3m / €689m) now back at the top of the ranking, which the English club had occupied without interruption from 1997 to 2005, before being dethroned in 2006 by Real Madrid (LaLiga Santander), the undisputed leader since.

In 2017, Real Madrid (€620.1m) rank 3rd in the Football Money League, a shade behind its rival FC Barcelona (€620.2m). FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga, €592m) and Manchester City (Premier League, €524.9m) round out the top five. Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1, 6th at €520.9m) and Juventus (Serie A TIM, 10th at €341.1m), are the top representatives from France and Italy respectively.

In total, the clubs in the Top 20 of the Deloitte Football Money League 2017 had cumulative €7.4bn in turnover in 2015-16, up 12% from 2014-15 (€6.6bn).
