Clubs relegated from Ligue 1 to Domino's Ligue 2 will receive a fixed amount of €2m in their first season after relegation, and €1m for their second season after relegation if they remain in the second division. These amounts will be distributed by the LFP.

"An additional amount of variable assistance is paid only in the first season following relegation, whose amount is indexed to the number of seasons the club has played in Ligue 1 (€500,000 per consecutive seasons played in Ligue 1, and €250,000 per non-consecutive seasons played in Ligue 1) over the last ten seasons, with a maximum of €5m," said the LFP to News Tank Football on 23/01/2017.

Clubs relegated from Domino's Ligue 2 to the third division National will also receive fixed amounts of aid (€700,000 in the first season after relegation, and €350,000 for the second season after relegation, if they remain in the National), as well as possible variable amounts of additional aid (see below).
