Isha Johansen has been elected President of the SLFA (Sierra Leone Football Association), the association announced on the 05/08/2013. Her term runs until 2017.The election of Isha Johansen, who had announced her candidacy in May 2012, ends an 11-month interim period, which started with the resignation of the previous President Nahim Khadi for health reasons, on the 09/09/2012. This is the first time a woman is elected as President of the SLFA.

She was elected unopposed on the 03/08/2013 after FIFA (International Federation of Association Football) endorsed the decision by the SLFA's interim committee to disqualify the three other candidates from standing in the polls : two of them (Rodney Michael and Foday Turay) for gambling and the third one, former international striker Mohamed Kallon (26 caps, 19 goals), for not having resided in Sierra Leone recently.
