Paris Saint-Germain - AS Monaco (1-1), in Matchday 22 of the 2016-17 Ligue 1, drew 1.44 million subscribers on average in France on the pay-TV channel Canal+ on Sunday, 29/01/2017 (kick-off at 21:00 CET), with a peak audience of 1.59 million early in the game. This figure represented 6.7% of the overall French public (aged four years and over) watching television at the time. The game was the first Ligue 1 match broadcast in 4K HD technology.

The best TV audience for the 2016-17 Ligue 1 remains the Paris Saint-Germain - Olympique de Marseille match (0-0, Matchday 10), which drew 1.75 million subscribers on average in France on Canal+ (23/10/2016, kick-off at 20:45 CET). Audience share of subscribers: 37.7%.
