Premier League: Manchester City launch a virtual reality device for fans

Manchester City FC (Premier League) have launched, with Jaunt Inc., a US company specialising in virtual reality, a virtual reality device which will allows fan who are not present at the stadium to view pre-game and behind-the-scenes content live from their computer or tablet, said the club on 24/01/2017.

Using virtual reality in 360°, fans of the club can move at will behind-the-scenes, and follow the preparation of the players from one camera to another throughout the stadium. Fans will have the opportunity to see the arrival of the players, have access to the dressing rooms, and enjoy the atmosphere in the stadium during the warm-ups.

"There's nothing that compares with attending a match at the Etihad Stadium, but the emergence of 360° video and virtual reality has allowed us to capture some of that atmosphere and excitement in ways that weren't possible in the past," said Diego Gigliani, SVP of media and innovation of City Football Group, on 24/01/2017.
