Media : sports radio station Brila FM to broadcast La Liga in Nigeria

Nigerian sports radio station Brila FM will broadcast the Spanish Liga after signing a deal with the LFP (Spanish Professional Football League), the company announced on the 06/08/2013.

The deal also includes the broadcast rights to Spain's national cup competition the Copa Del Rey. The length of the agreement has not yet been revealed.

Brila FM already broadcasts the Premier League, the FA Cup (English national cup) and the Capital One Cup (English League Cup) since 2012/13, after acquiring the broadcast rights for Nigeria from English football global audio rights owners, UTV Media.

Brila FM currently are also in talks with organisers of the Bundesliga to obtain the broadcast rights to the German championship in Nigeria. "Indeed, a test-run has been approved for us for the 09/08/2013 and if it goes well, both parties will formally sign a contract," said Larry Izamoje, the radio station's chief executive officer, on the 06/08/2013.
