Facebook: 239,750,000 fans in total for the 20 Premier League clubs (February 2017)

The 20 clubs in the 2016-17 Premier League have a cumulative 239.75 million fans on the social network Facebook, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/02/2017. This total makes the Premier League the most popular European league on Facebook, with 11.98 million fans on average per club.

Manchester United remain the most followed English club with 72.45 million fans. The club added 339,100 new fans (+0.5%) in January 2017, the month in which his rival Manchester City were the Premier League club which drew the most new followers (438,300, +2%). The two Manchester clubs are part of the five English clubs to exceed 22 million fans on Facebook.

At 2.9%, (from 1,919,630 to 1,974,600), West Ham United are the Premier League club which posted the best percentage growth on Facebook between January and February 2017. The club should become the ninth Premier League team to surpass two million fans in February 2017. The 20 English clubs drew 75,909 new fans on average in January 2017, the highest average gain among the Top 5 leagues.
