Twitter: 9.63 million followers in total for the 18 Bundesliga clubs (February 2017)

The 18 clubs in the 2016-17 Bundesliga season have a cumulative 9.63 million followers on the social network Twitter, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/02/2017. The Bundesliga is the least followed Top 5 league on Twitter, with 535,198 followers on average per club.

FC Bayern Munich remain the most popular German club on Twitter, with 3.29 million followers, an increase of 79,935 (+2.5%) compared to the beginning of January 2017. Borussia Dortmund (2nd, 2.51 million) and FC Schalke 04 (3rd, 492,680) complete the German podium. These three clubs combine for 6.29 million followers on Twitter, or 65% of the total of all 18 Bundesliga clubs.

At 9.6%, (55,542 to 60,871), SV Darmstadt 98 are the Bundesliga club which posted the best percentage growth rate on Twitter since January 2017, but remains the second least followed club in the German first division.
