Twitter: 12.07 million followers in total for the 20 Ligue clubs (February 2017)

The 20 clubs in the 2016-17 Ligue 1 season have a cumulative 12.07 million followers on the social network Twitter, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/02/2017. Ligue 1 is ranked fourth amount the Top 5 leagues, behind LaLiga Santander, the Premier League, and the Serie A TIM, with 603,846 followers on average per club.

Paris Saint-Germain remain the most followed French club, with 4.17 million followers, up 102,336 (+2.5%) compared to January 2017. Olympique de Marseille (2^nd, 1.88 million) and AS Monaco (3^rd, 1.19 million) round out the podium. Olympique Lyonnais became the fourth French club to exceed one million followers on Twitter in January 2017.

at 7.9%, (from 93,812 to 101,235) FC Metz are the Ligue 1 club which posted the best percentage growth on Twitter during the first month of 2017. Metz also became the 17^th Ligue 1 club to exceed 100,000 followers.
