2017 Confederations Cup: Cameroon, AFCON champions, are the eighth and final qualified country

"Africa will be represented by Cameroon at the 2017 Confederations Cup to be held from 17/06 to 02/07/2017 in Russia, in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sochi and Kazan," stated FIFA on 05/02/2017. Cameroon are the eighth and final country to to book the ticket Russia by winning AFCON 2017, 2-1 win against Egypt in the final in Libreville (Gabon) on 05/02/2017.

In Russia, the first match of Cameroon is scheduled on Sunday, 18/06/2017 against Chile, in a Group B which also includes Germany and Australia. Group A consists of Portugal, Mexico, New Zealand, and the host country Russia. The FIFA Confederations Cup brings together the winners of the six continental tournaments, the host country (Russia) and the last World Cup champions (Germany).

The opening match of the 2017 Confederations Cup will see host Russia play against New Zealand at the Saint-Petersburg Stadium on Saturday, 17/06/2017. The final will be held in the same stadium 15 days later, on 02/07/2017.
