2017 Super Bowl: Hyundai broadcasts a live advertisement with US military personnel in Poland

The South Korean automobile manufacturer Hyundai released an advertisement at the end of the 2017 Super Bowl (NFL championship game) with footage shot during the game, on 05/02/2017. This ad featured personnel at the US military base in Zagan (Poland), who were able to watch the game with their relatives, with the latter present at NRG Stadium (71,500 capacity, in Houston, Texas) through an augmented reality device (see below). Hyundai became an official partner and the official car of the Super Bowl until 2019, on 29/06/2015.

The 51^th edition of the Super Bowl was won by the New England Patriots over the Atlanta Falcons (34-28), on Sunday, 05/02/2017 (kick-off at 17:30 in Houston, 18:00 US east coast time, and 00:30 CET).

The price for a 30-second advertising spot on television during the Super Bowl was $5m (€4.6m) according to specialised media. The Korean auto group bought the first three thirty second advertising slots directly after the game ended.
