Turner: investment stake into Bigballs Media, parent company of the Copa90 football media network

The Digital Ventures and Innovation division of Turner has acquired a stake in Bigballs Media, the parent company of Copa90, a digital media network specialising in football content, announced the US media group on 07/02/2017.

With this investment, Bigballs Media wants to "accelerate our growth in our core markets, build our data and distribution capabilities and expand our commercial teams in Europe and the US and of course continue to make the best fan culture football content." Turner, the owner of Bleacher Report, a digital media platform for sports, wants to intensify its presence in digital media for sports through this investment. This investment is one of the first actions of the Digital Ventures and Innovation division of Turner, created in November 2016 in order to "identify possible opportunities for innovations, developments, and acquisitions."
