Markus Breglec has been appointed the new marketing director of Liverpool FC (Premier League), announced the club on 08/02/2017. The position was created specifically for the recruitment of Markus Breglec, since the English club has not had a marketing director position to date.

"The new marketing director will create strategies to drive growth, inspire innovation and foster collaboration. Fan engagement will be fundamental to this new role and Breglec will call upon his experience across sports and consumer electronics," stated Liverpool FC.

Markus Breglec was previously, since January 2014, the vice-president of marketing and sponsorship for HTC, the Taiwanese electronics manufacturer specialising in digital smartphones and tablets, whom he first joined in 2011. At HTC, he was in charge of the sponsorship programme for the Champions League and Europa League.

"Bring the club closer to our hundreds of millions of fans around the world." (B. Hogan, LFC, on 08/02/2017)
