Football Transfer Review 2017: the report of the Spanish agency Prime Time Sport (in English)

The Spanish sports marketing agency Prime Time Sport has published its 2017 edition of the Football Transfer Review report, on 08/02/2017. This is the eighth edition, which Prime Time Sport has published since the 2009-10 season.

This report examines in particular the data on transfers in the European Top 5 leagues for the 2017 winter transfer winter. According to figures from Prime Time Sports, the 98 clubs in the Top 5 leagues spent a total of €633m in January 2017, a new record for a winter transfer window.

Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1) are the European club which were the most active during the 2017 winter window, with €70m spent on new players, ahead of Olympique de Marseille (Ligue 1) and Crystal Palace FC (Premier League), who each spent €38m. The 20 LaLiga Santander clubs together combined to spend only €18m in January 2017, with only seven players (paid transfers) brought in by five clubs.
