Champions League: FC Barcelona - Paris Saint-Germain, two heavyweights face-to-face economically

At €620.2m in 2015-16, FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) posted a turnover 19% higher than that of Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1), which generated €520.9m, according to figures from the Football Money League 2017 from the audit and consulting firm Deloitte, ahead of the opening leg of the Round of 16 matchup between the two clubs at the Parc des Princes in Paris (FRA) in the 2016-17 Champions League, on Tuesday, 14/02/2017 (kick-off at 20:45 CET).

The difference in economic terms has further increased in favour of FC Barcelona in 2015-16 compared to 2014-15, when Barça was ahead of PSG by €80m, or 16.6% (€560.8m to €480.8m) in 2014-15. The difference is €99.3m in 2015-16 (€620.2m to €520.9m). The Catalan club have the second highest revenue of all European clubs in 2015-16, behind Manchester United FC (€689m), while Paris Saint-Germain are in sixth place, down two places from the previous season (4^th).
